To THINK or to OVERTHINK???
You know what’s exhausting?
Not the situation itself… but the 100 versions of it you’ve created in your head before anything has even happened.
Overthinking is strange because sometimes it feels productive. It convinces us that if we think hard enough, long enough, deep enough… we can somehow control the outcome.
But most of the time?
We’re not solving anything.
We’re replaying conversations that already happened. Imagining arguments that haven’t happened. Preparing for rejection that may never come.
And the craziest part is — people who overthink are usually the ones who care deeply.
We care about being understood. About making the right choice. About not hurting people. About protecting ourselves from pain we’ve already experienced before.
So sometimes overthinking isn’t really “thinking too much.”
Sometimes it’s fear disguised as preparation.
I’ve learned this:
Not every thought deserves your attention.
Not every bad possibility deserves your energy.
And peace doesn’t come when life finally makes sense.
Peace comes when you stop feeling responsible for controlling everything.
To whoever needs to hear this —
Your mind is powerful.
But you do not need to believe every thought it gives you.
Some thoughts are visitors.
You don’t have to invite all of them to stay.
