To THINK or to OVERTHINK???

You know what’s exhausting?

Not the situation itself… but the 100 versions of it you’ve created in your head before anything has even happened.

Overthinking is strange because sometimes it feels productive. It convinces us that if we think hard enough, long enough, deep enough… we can somehow control the outcome.

But most of the time?

We’re not solving anything.

We’re replaying conversations that already happened. Imagining arguments that haven’t happened. Preparing for rejection that may never come.

Overthinking?

Why am I overthinking EVERYTHING?

Love this pic! And the outdoors scenery…

I think a lot of us overthink because somewhere along the way we learned that being prepared for every possible outcome feels safer than being caught off guard.

Sometimes it comes from past hurt, anxiety, caring deeply, or simply wanting control over things we can’t control.

The problem is… our minds start solving problems that don’t even exist yet.

You’re definitely not alone in that. I think learning when to trust ourselves instead of our anxious thoughts is the real work. ❤️

“You Don’t Need to Finish the Thought”

One thing I’m practicing: Not finishing every thought my brain starts.

Some thoughts don’t need answers. Some feelings don’t need to be processed immediately. Some moments just need to pass.

Overthinking convinces us that clarity comes from more thinking. But sometimes clarity comes from stepping away.

If your mind feels loud today, this is your reminder: You’re allowed to pause mid-thought. You’re allowed to move on without closure. You’re allowed to exist without explaining yourself.

“Being ‘Self-Aware’ Isn’t Always Peaceful”

I used to think being self-aware meant I was doing something right.

I noticed everything: My tone. My posture. How I might’ve come across. How someone else might’ve interpreted something I said.

But somewhere along the way, awareness turned into surveillance.

Overthinking doesn’t mean you lack confidence. Sometimes it means you care deeply—and don’t know when to rest.

I’m learning that awareness without compassion just becomes self-criticism.

So lately, when I notice myself spiraling, I try to add softness instead of logic. Less “figure it out.” More “it’s okay to be human.”
